Eddie and I were boys together. And we grew into men, he more quickly than I and he in a more constrained manner than I (right up until I joined the Marines). My memories of those youthful adventurous times are like a Huck Finn tale. We grew up in Fort Caroline and were quite mischievous. I spoke with him just after his wife passed away and several times thereafter. In case you didn't know, his wife died of a sudden severe asthma attack in his arms before the paramedics could respond.

I thought he was doing OK. I called one day to have a chat and when I asked for "big Eddie" (as opposed to his son, see below) I got his father who told me that Eddie had passed away. When I inquired as to the circumstances he explained that in his estimation Eddie had died of a broken heart.

I have been in touch with his sons Eddie, Eugene and John and his sister Poppy via facebook. They seem to be thriving and he has Grandchildren. Eddie O'Neal current rendition and family are below......

Very sad, Eddie and I were friends at Parker. Once we graduated I lost contact with him.

Oh, he was such a jokester and funny guy. He loved to tease me in a funny way. Such a tragedy and loss for his children and loved ones.
