Mike and I, along with Parker Class of 74 grad Mark Scharringhausen went to work at Jacksonville Insulation as summer helpers right after graduation.  They distributed an ad at Parker and Englewood high and the ad stated to bring a hard hat to the interview.  We got to the site and there must have been 30 guys interviewing.  Since Mike, Mark and myself were the only ones who came with hard hats they hired us and made us a three man crew with our own truck.  We insulated houses from the beaches to the westside and I will never forget the fun we had working that three month job.  I ran into Mike several times over the years and was saddened to read of his passing in the Times Union.
